Philosophy on
Risky Play
At FFEC, we believe in the value of risky play, which encourages children to push boundaries and learn self-reliance. Before starting any activity on the farm, clear safety rules are communicated. However, when it comes to play, we allow children the freedom to assess their own risks under the watchful supervision of our team.
Risky play—like climbing trees, exploring the woods, or using natural materials—teaches children critical life skills such as self-confidence, decision-making, and assessing their own limits. We support their growth while ensuring they are capable of handling the challenges they choose to undertake. By engaging in self-directed, adventurous play, children develop resilience and independence in a natural setting.
